Eickemeyer Diascleral Transilluminator

A standard diagnostic tool for any practice, the Diascleral Transilluminator provides a focused LED light source for examining the fundus in all animals. Of great advantage is its ability to bend the upper portion and appropriately focus the light allowing the user to view the fundus with a closed pupil (direct ophthalmoscopy). With the aid of an ophthalmic lens as a light source it can also be used to perform indirect ophthalmoscopy. Suitable for diagnosis of the following changes in the fundus: Retinal hemorrhage and/or retinal detachment, E.g. Feline Hypertensive Retinopathy (frequent, particularly in older cats), Other retinal changes, E.g. PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), chorioretinitis (inflammation of the retina) or congenital abnormalities (Collie Eye Anomaly, Retinal Dysplasia). Advantages over indirect ophthalmoscopy: Significantly lower price, Real Image, Larger magnification for better detail, Time saving to facilitate the examination process. LED Light Source, Cone of Light diameter 3 mm, Aperture 16 lumens (if new batteries), Weight 30 g (excl. battery), Length 15.6 cm, Includes 2 AAA batteries (1.5 V) and Allen key
