Does the ‘check eye’ on your appointment schedule make you cringe? Do you want to develop a confident systematic approach to evaluating and diagnosing ocular conditions?
This is intended to provide a solid foundation of ophthalmic knowledge that allows you to develop a practical approach to evaluating ophthalmic patients in general practice. It reviews ocular anatomy, how to approach an ophthalmic examination, including why the neuro-ophthalmic exam is so important, what equipment will make your life easier as well as tips and tricks from a boarded ophthalmologist on how to evaluate eyes in all species.
We will review the components of the ocular examination with particular attention to baseline ophthalmic diagnostics and the necessary equipment for a thorough ophthalmic exam. The day is then completed with an afternoon lab to practice the exam skills (with live patients) that were discussed, with expert guidance.
Come with the questions you have always wanted to ask about ophthalmic exams!
